Description:

This is the Girard-Perregaux Laureato Ceramic. This model is synonymous with the brand as their flagship sports timepiece. First introduced in 1975, the Laureato originally ran on a quartz caliber. In Italian, Laureato means Graduate. Given the obvious similarities, the Laureato is often unfairly compared to the Royal Oak and the Nautilus and generally regarded as inferior. The similarities are likely to be coincidental as this was not a Gerald Genta design and in actuality, the Laureato can hold its own in most departments except resale value, which unfortunately seems to be the benchmark that most collectors use. The current iteration of the Laureato was introduced in 2016 and quickly became GP’s best selling model. It wears comfortably on the wrist with the curved lugs and has a strong presence. The 38mm variant fits well on smaller wrists given the curved lugs. This timepiece is powered by GP’s inhouse Caliber GP03300.
