My AD is also my neighbor

So I guess it all started around 4 years ago.

Across the street a new family had just moved in and I immediately recognized them as the owners of the AD in town.

When we first met and welcomed them to the neighborhood, they asked if they could possibly borrow our lawnmower. The house they bought had sat on the market for some time and the front lawn was a mess.

No big deal, our mower wasn't anything special, just one of those push things without an engine. I was happy to let them take it for a spin. When returning it back to me the guy brought a couple of beers as thank you.

Few days later he bought one of those motorized ones and we pretty much didn't speak to each other after that, other than the occasional "hi, how's it going" etc. You know, the typical friendly neighborhood chat.

Then in 2019 he bought one of those Riding Lawn Mowers and I noticed he started mowing the lawn of the Johnson's next door. Few days later I saw Mr. Johnson trimming the hedges of the AD family.

It pretty much spread throughout the neighborhood over the next 1½ years. Every time the AD owner has home, I'd see him riding around cutting my other neighbor's lawns and just as often I'd see my neighbors run over to him and either trim his hedges, plan some roses in his garden or do other type of upkeep for him.

By now I was kind of sick of pushing my own lawn-mower around week after week and I figured I'd want to get in on the action. I ran over to him the next day as he came home from work and just straight up asked him - Hey man, I noticed you were mowing other people's lawns, that's awesome.. you think you could do the same for me?

He first kind of pushed me off, saying he was quite busy with all the others, but maybe if I helped him out cut down an old tree he had in the backyard, we could work something out? If not we would have to wait and see when he would have time to come by, he couldn't make any promises or give me a timeline.

I was absolutely appalled. Didn't he remember that I 2 years ago let him borrow my own push-mower? I am so tired of this friendly neighborhood game. Seems like he only wants to help the other neighbors and not me. I deserve his help just as much as my other neighbors.

Either way, long story short - I just found out Rolex has some cool watches that literally double in value once you walk out the door. On my way to buy some of those now, I really don't understand why everybody isn't doing the same.
