My wife wanted to get me something “nice” for my birthday. We were going in to have a ring sized for her at the AD where I have been on the interest list for a Pepsi since the day they were announced. I thought I’d like a meteorite Day-Date but of course they didn’t have one in stock and in fact not much Rolex stock at all. My dear wife wandered over to another case and said “I really think you should look at one of these and try something different!” Fortunately we had both attended the Patek exhibition in NYC a few years ago and it really impressed her. Needless to say- she succeeded in getting me something nice!
