Can Rolexes really live up to what build them up to be??

I may be a special case (although I highly doubt it) but I've been obsessed with these watches for years. I remember sitting in computer class in high school, looking at pictures of rolexes online instead of doing the projects assigned

I've had my heart set on a specific model for months at a time, only to fall in love all over again (almost feeling guilty about it) with another model after a trip to an AD when "just looking".

When we build these watches up as much as we do, devoting the time / energy / money to acquire them, when the chase is all said and done and the watch is on your wrist -

I'm wondering if anyone ever feels disappointed becuase the watch was placed on such a pedestal that it could have never possibly lived up to what we envisioned it as!

Any takers?

I myself can't see this hapening when i finally pull the trigger, but the chase is still on for me and the pedestal is higher then ever as I get closer to owning my first piece!!

We shall see!!!
