Father's Day 2021

"Father’s Day: The Gift"

Many wives will wrack their brains,
Looking at gifts of even toy train.
To give to show their love of oh so long.
The gratitude that they to family belong.

For the devotion that their husband gives,
A couple that as one soul lives.
And thankful that so long they’ve stayed,
And not to flesh’s temptation caved.

But it’s not through gifts of socks or ties,
Or brunch out which the lady buys.
The gift was given long since passed,
One which I’d no idea would last.

When first I met you toe to toe,
And something in my heart did flow.
And you gave me then all you had,
My start to be a worthy dad.

I’d no idea that spark like fever,
Would be a gift to last forever.
So thank you dear for all you've given,
That makes my life a joy worth living.

Regardless of the sentimentality; Mary gave me an OP41 and added a hat to surprise me!!!
