For sale is a very good condition unpolished 40mm Rolex Explorer 2. The Z Serial 16570 was originally purchased from a Torneau AD in 2008, and is accompanied by boxes and papers. Included in the box and papers set are: a green inner box, the original Rolex warranty card, the Torneau warranty booklet that was filled out when the watch was sold new, instruction manuals, a manual holder, and a plastic bezel protector.

The Rolex features a brushed steel case, which is accented by a fixed brushed 24 hour GMT bezel that is engraved with black enameled units. The Explorer 2 is mounted on a brushed steel 78790A Oyster bracelet, which is secured by a safety lock deployant clasp. The clasp is engraved with a “OP11” clasp code which correlates to a November 2006 production date, meaning that the bracelet is original to the watch. The bracelet contains 12 full size Oyster links, and will comfortably fit a 7.35 inch wrist. The Rolex features a blak dial with applied polished white gold luminous hour markers, luminous hands, and a magnified date window aperture at 3 o’clock. The movement used in the 16570 is the Rolex Calibre 3185 which features approximately 50 hours of power reserve, and is keeping excellent time. Prior to listing, the Explorer 2 passed both an accuracy test and a pressure test. In addition, the movement was serviced before listing, and is keeping exceptional time !

The 16570 is a one owner watch, and was purchased directly from the original owner, who occasionally wore the watch during his 12 years of ownership. The case has never been polished, with crispy thick even lugs, which retain their original chamfers. The Oyster bracelet contains no stretch, while the cornett on the claps is thick and crisp. There are some hairline scratches on the watch, which were left untouched to preserve the watch’s unpolished status. Overall this is an honest untouched example of a late 16570 Explorer 2, which would make an excellent addition to any watch collection big or small.
