Late 70s DD original? Renewed bracelet?
Hello! I’ve been trying to figure out what’s up with a Rolex day date a friend of mine has. He has had it for a long time and before that a friend of their family had it and sold it to them. Overall I’m inclined to believe the watch itself is legit but I think the bracelet might have been fixed/changed (for starters it has very little stretch). The serial number is a 590xxxx it would place the watch at either 78 or 79.
From what I could see all hallmarks and details on the watch itself seem fine but what I really find strange is the end links of the bracelet don’t have numbers, this is compounded with the stamped number on the clasp which I believe does not correspond to the actual bracelet model. I've uploaded the images to the following link. I'm sorry about the horrible formatting for the link but I've been unable to upload the images here due to size/format restrictions and It did not allow me to add them with URLs because of URL posting restrictions. Any ideas? :) thanks drive(dot)google(dot)com/drive/folders/1k4snkCyZkoDLdBIkT48OH-kPG1sAQIch |
