New incoming during Sydney lockdown with no purchase history
I can't believe I have the chance to post this but I got the call today!
It's the new 2021 Explorer 124270 and I'll be sure to post pics once I receive it. We're still in lockdown here in Sydney, Australia, so the watch will be delivered to me via armoured courier (according to the AD) next week. I have no purchase history with the Rolex AD. I first approached them in Oct 2019 for the 39mm Explorer and popped in every couple of months to build rapport and reaffirm my interest. In late 2020, I went in and told them how worried I was that the 39mm might be increased to 41mm in line with their OP range because 36-39mm is my preferred size. Still had no luck with acquiring one and I suspect production had slowed dramatically in view of the new models in 2021. When the new 36mm was announced earlier this year, I went straight down to the AD to confirm my interest. I got a call 2 weeks later but much to my dismay it was just to try on a display piece that they had in store. Needless to say, I went in and fell head over heels for the 36mm. My wrists are a touch over 7 inches and it's such a sweet size for it. I've seen lots of naysayers condescendingly say it's for women but it just seems like insecurity to me. Anyway, to everyone who's waiting for the call, there is hope so hang in there! |
