Third time owning this watch. This time at a premium!

So I made a bit of an adjustment to my collection.

I started with the 126710 BLRO / Z Blue

And a 36mm explorer.

I’ve owned the 39mm explorer twice and have sold it both times either due to having cash for my bikes (I’m an avid cyclist) or just because I had my eye on something else.

Fast forward a few years and I’m searching again for a nice daily tool watch for the collection.

I knew for this watch I didn’t want to pay the premium of the explorer 39 due to its discontinuation.

I got a chance to get the 36 retail at the price point I wanted for a daily (around 7500CAD)

I couldn’t help but second guess the size every single time it was on my wrist, albeit it is definitely the most well proportioned version of this model. I just kept thinking subconsciously it was too small every time I looked at it.

I ended up getting rid of it to fund an OP41 at retail at the same price point. I loved this watch and it’s size, i thought it was perfect. But in the back of my mind there was something about the explorer I that made it the best daily in my personal opinion. I kept humming and hawing to myself “this is the one I REALLY want, but do I really pay a premium for a watch that isn’t worth its market value!?”

The thought of a 39mm explorer kept lurking in the back of my mind, I couldn’t bare the thought of missing the opportunity to buy it if it eventually became too out of reach.

So I sold the OP and bit the bullet on the explorer, a mint 2017 example, unnamed card (still finding a few stickers) at 12kCAD.

I absolutely love everything about this watch. It’s always been one of my personal favourites since i started this ridiculous hobby lol.

This is the first watch ive ever paid a premium for!

Here she is!

So now I promised myself I’d stop at the 3

Pepsi / z blue and exp 39

We will see how that goes lol
