Detours (Antiques Roadshow) Rolex Podcast

I just listened to this podcast on my morning bike ride…

https://www.wgbh.org/podcast/detours/the-rolex-effect

It discussed the two most viewed Antiques Roadshow clips on YouTube, both of which dealt with appraisals of two vintage Rolex watches, which many of us have seen. However, it had an interesting take on the run-ups in valuations and the lure of collecting in general. Two female commentators who were associated with the show thought it was lunacy because they did not find Rolexes “pretty”. Yet the crap they liked was totally justifiable.

The most interesting take, though, was the perspective of the show’s long time appraiser.

Worth a listen even though it is nothing new for most of us here.
