Excited to share with you guys my newest acquisition, a limited edition Moritz Grossmann Benu. I've always respected Moritz Grossmann and their commitment to in-house manufacturing and ultra high-end finishing. Unfortunately, their 41mm offerings are too large for my tastes and the 37mm offerings were slim to none. Enter Wei Koh. This is an 8 piece limited run produced in conjunction with Wei Koh and Revolution magazine. The look of this watch spoke to me the second I saw it. People might call me crazy, but I chose this over a Cornes de Vache and a Laurent Ferrier. Let me explain...

The watch features a back to basics approach, with a glossy/rich creme grand feu enamel dial; to quote Tim Mosso. "it looks like perpetually wet paint". The dial is adorned with deep black stylized Roman numerals and classically inspired minute track. The Grossmann logo was relocated and discretely placed ontop of the minute track at 6 o'clock, so as not to disturb the harmony of the dial. The hour and minute hands are painstakingly crafted by hand and are heated to a purple hue; these are some of the most delicate looking hands I've ever seen.

The movement itself is exceptionally finished (my camera does not do it justice); the attention to detail and finishing may be better than my Lange 1. I do not say that lightly. The crown wheel and click feature black polish. The balance cock features extraordinary engraving. Double spiraling on the ratchet wheel. There is deep glashütte striping. Gold chatons. Grenage on the baseplate. All screws are heated purple (a color more difficult to achieve than blue). Clear sapphires used instead of rubies to complete the look. It's honestly just an impressive piece of finishing, hats off to Moritz Grossmann. Might I also add, the detent and sound made when winding is an utter pleasure, among the best I've experienced.

The 37mm case may scare off many, but it truly wears larger thanks to the minimal bezel and elongated lugs, which have a wonderful curvature and bevel to them.

Anyway, here are some quick pics.
