? re the Day-Date hyphens
Dries posted this pic in the “Gratuitous” thread here, back in early Sept.
I understand there are/were a very few genuine non-Wide Boy dials without the hyphen in “Day-Date,” but I think this may be only the second photo I’ve seen. (The lume plots and minute track are also unusual for a pie-pan dial.) Does anyone have any more info about this no-hyphen-DD phenomenon (or have any thoughts on this dial)? E.g., is this only seen on 4-digit references? Are they perhaps service dials? Dries, if this dial and paint are factory original as far as you know, what serial range is the case? |
