Best line/lie/story/excuse for your AD.

I'm UK based and have been on the list at the local RB for 2 years plus for a SD43 which at the time of initial inquiry was going to be 18months.
I've played the game calling in every 4 months or so (covid allowing) for updates and the last update was that they were confident that they could get a watch sometime this year.
Anyway at my last visit whilst collecting another Rolex which he'd been any for service I mentioned to the SA how frustrating it was that several UK grey dealers had 2022 unworn SD43 available, he said that he understood fully but was I ware that most of the UK grey stock came from India and Italy where Rolex aren't as popular....!!!
Any other stories to share?
