Two Tone Sub Availability?
Hello all…
I’m new to Rolex but have been wanting one for about as long as I can remember. My wife and I are celebrating our 15th anniversary this year, as well as my 40th birthday, and she gave me the go ahead to take the plunge…Provided she gets that Greece vacation she’s been wanting to take since we got married 😂. I traveled down the rabbit hole and eventually found this site. Totally shocked that a person can’t simply walk into a store and pick up a watch. I’ve had a couple Omega’s about fifteen years ago and never imagined this type of craziness would surround high end watches but I digress…I’m not looking to kick off a full on collection but rather a daily wearer that I can put some history on to hand down to my son someday. I had my eye on a black dial Deepsea, visited a couple AD’s here in Vegas and got added to the infamous “list”. They all told me that model (Deepsea) was one of the easier models to obtain so I was for sure I’d have one in no time. Got a call last weekend but it wasn’t the call I was waiting for…SA said the wait for the Deepsea would be substantially longer than anticipated due to a new variation being released and the older models being discontinued. Needless to say I was a bit let down by this new info. Called a couple of the other AD’s I’d visited and they basically told me the same thing. Demand had gone up for model apparently and it’s always a slog waiting for new models to eventually hit the market. Fast forward to this past week at work and a client came through wearing a steel and gold Submariner. I told him I was looking to get a Rolex and he was kind enough to let me try it on. Love at first sight… So now I’m fairly sure this is the model I’d rather have over the Deepsea. So I figured I’d turn to the experts with a couple questions…First off do you all think it would be easier to get the Submariner in comparison to the new Deepsea’s? I’d think it would be since the Deepsea is now a “new” design. Secondly does everybody recommend letting the SA’s know that I’m no longer interested in the Deepsea but rather the Submariner? I don’t want them to think down on me for putting them through the effort at getting one model then change my mind and go after another is all. Since I don’t have any previous sales history with these places and I don’t really plan on buying any other watches aside from this one…The heart wants what the heart wants but I’m afraid they’ll just write me off all together and not give me either model. |
