Incomings
2022's been an eventful year for me. Not just watches, lots of other personal developments and changes.
I picked up a 116610LV for myself, to celebrate the results of my hard work. It's the "one that got away" and I decided to finally get it, it represents a lot of personal sacrifice. After that, I picked up a tritium 16710 Coke for my father. He's always wanted a Rolex but put taking care of his family ahead of himself. He's overcome cancer and a heart attack, and he did it while caring for my mom as she dealt with her own health issues. The watch is the least I could do to show my gratitude for everything he's done for us. It's from a year that's significant to our family, it felt like a perfect fit for him. The last incoming was kind of a surprise. I pinged my AD and asked her to keep an eye out for a pink dial OP31 or 28, for my girlfriend. I expected to wait for many months, if ever. But just two weeks later my AD sent me an email with a picture of a pink OP31 in hand, asking if I still wanted it. I was out of town visiting my parents (to give my dad his GMT, actually) and my AD was kind enough to hold the watch for me until I could get it. Now I can give it to my GF for her birthday this summer, I couldn't be happier. |
