Rose Gold Daytona w/ Chocolate Dial - talk me out of it
I have the opportunity to acquire a RG Daytona w/ chocolate dial from an AD at retail. Though this watch was never on my radar (I’ve been holding out for the Pepsi), it does feel rather compelling, specially at retail.
For those that have/ had it, how does the watch wear, specially with an OF bracelet? Some of the pictures I’ve seen online indicate some amount of space between the wrist and the OF bracelet due to the presence of the ridges (?) on the underside of the bracelet. Make the entire watch seem “baloony” and slightly I’ll fitting. The watch also seems to wear substantially larger than it’s 40mm size would indicate. Any real like experiences to share on wearability? While the OF gives it an air of casual, would it be equally at home with office wear for instance (I usually wear long sleeve shirts, cuff links, formal trousers and shoes to work, no tie)? How legible is the watch? The dial looks quite busy. And do you miss not having a date? While not a seller/ flipper, I do like my watches to hold their value in the hope that they will eventually be passed on to my son. How would a PM Rolex fare in this regard, as PM watches have generally fewer takers than SS ones and are therefore less popular perhaps? My current collection consists of a 39mm SS Explorer 1, a 42mm SS GP Laureato with blue dial and a 39mm RG ALS 1815 up/ down. The Laureato is currently my daily wearer to work. The ALS for when I need to wear a suit etc. and the Explorer mostly for weekends and running errands. Please note that I have yet to see and try the watch in person and am hoping to get some opinions before I do so. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
