The 5 digit Explorer II is probably my favorite Rolex. It’s relatively lightweight, low silhouette, comfortable and multifunctional. It also flies under the radar. The polar is a stark change from other Rolex tool watches. The 42mm not so much. It has the all the features of the 5 digit, but sacrifices a lot of the attributes I listed, as far as I am concerned. In full disclosure, I have skinny wrists, which is the main reason for that. I like the Explorer II so much, I had one PVDed to wear in “places it may not be safe to wear a Rolex.” No hater comments on the PVDed one please. I’ve already heard them all, LOL!
