Lucky, Lucky Day_Surprise find!!

So today, as a recent member, I am happy to share a story of good fortune. Recently within the last year I developed an appreciation of fine watches and started acquiring some nice pieces. I have always admired the Submariner collection and the two-tone bluesy is a must.

Over the past year, I have frequented various Rolex AD's in NYC and Southeast Florida to admire their various offerings. Watches are amazing. As I started to educate myself, I would enter my request for certain Rolex models with the various AD’s. I did receive a call 2 months ago from a NYC AD for a JC Sea-Dweller Deepsea 136660. I was in Florida and was not available to arrive in person to purchase that piece. So I guess if you are not available when they call, they will reach out to the next person.

A few weeks ago I was back in NYC for business and to drop off a Daytona for servicing at the Bryant Park / 6th avenue location. As always, I asked if they had any of the items on my list, but there only had [2] day dates available.

Being a beautiful spring day, I met up with a friend and we walked to the Rolex AD on 53rd & Madison (where he bought that OLEX day date - Read_March 24, 2023 - TRF thread) as he wanted to speak to his AD rep there. I stopped at the Rolex counter to see if there was anything new available. Nothing. I felt bad for the sales staff. Onward I headed to the Bucherer location at 57th off Madison. I walked into that beautiful shop and went straight to the Rolex counter. I was introduced to a senior AD rep and started to talk with her showing her photos of my collection and wish list watches.

She saw the Bluesy 126613LB as the #1 add to my submariner collection and asked me if she had one on hand, would I take it that day? I thought she was joking, but apparently it really was my lucky day. The rep informed me she had reached out to the person on the list for that watch twice that day. She then told me she would send out a final text to that person and if they did not respond within 30 minutes, the watch was mine. Well, 30 minutes later, enjoying a glass of champagne and a cappuccino, this watch became the newest submariner in my collection. I always believe that in the journey of life the pursuit of dreams may yield many lucky days.
