FS: 1965 Omega Speedmaster Professional 105.012
Hi,
I’m pleased to offer an Omega Speedmaster Professional reference 105.012-64 Before we get into details, I just want to say that this is a watch I’ve really enjoyed owning over the last few years. It’s got a great lived-in vintage look, and the contrast between the yellow indices and the blue bezel makes it stand out nicely. I’m selling because my collection is changing, and it just isn’t getting the wrist time it deserves. CASE: Good condition with clear lines, no major dings or scratches, and no pitting or corrosion. I believe it has seen a light polish in the past, but nothing egregious. Double bevel caseback shows clear model number on interior and moderately crisp hippocampus engraving on exterior. Pushers are correct fat neck, short and wide. Crown appears to be correct, with a narrow, flat feet Omega logo. I can’t find an Omega logo on the crystal, so it may not be original. Please note in the photos, a tiny scratch in the crystal can distort the lettering in "Speedmaster." BEZEL: Dot over Ninety (DON) bezel shows some deterioration between 8 and 10 o’clock, and a little more in the 6 o’clock area. Great fade, and depending on the light, it can appear either steely grey or light blue. DIAL AND HANDS: Tritium step dial with applied metal logo is in good condition, generally presenting as faded black or dark grey. Long hour markers retain most luminous material, which has developed a good dark yellow patina. I suspect the hands may have been color matched with newer lume at some point, as they retain a decent green glow at night, whereas the dial indices don’t. MOVEMENT: Calibre 321 is in beautiful shape. Watch winds firmly and smoothly, keeps time well and chronograph functions properly. Service history unknown. ACCESSORIES: New tan suede strap made by Jean Paul Menicucci for Bulang & Sons, and Extract of the Archives showing production date of June 18th, 1965 and delivery to the Netherlands Antilles. $12,500 shipped via Fedex fully insured Please feel free to contact me with any questions via PM or grantweber AT gmail DOT com Thanks, -GW |
