Maybe in a pickle...
So I've been frequenting my local (small town) AD for years now putting in the time to be able to purchase a watch at retail. I started this journey in 2020, and after 2 years of the same "we have your info, we'll be in touch" I gave up and went grey. Super happy with the Pepsi GMT I bought. Well today I was driving by after work and decided to stop in just for fun. Now its been at least 6 months since I've stopped by as I gave up.. Talked to the same sales rep and he remembered me and even knew my name. Originally I had said I liked the Rhodium Yachtmaster, which I knew was gonna be easier to get than a GMT. Well he says to me, "you like this blue yachtmaster, I might be getting one soon." Surprised, I said yes since I feel its a good move to establish this relationship with my local AD for future purchases, and I really felt like he was serious. The question at hand is, does it make sense to buy this watch to establish the relationship even though it wasn't my first choice, and would I be blowing future purchase if I don't buy it?
