Celebration…Birthday

A big birthday this week for me this week, and today, just gave a few of my Rolex timepieces a bath….

I was hoping a Celebration OP would arrive on time, but looks like I would not until much later in year, yet I’m happy with two actions to account for “new watches” to celebrate.

1- Bought back from one of my best buddies three watches I sold him throughout the years three watches: a 36mm SS Datejust ca. 1986 that I got for my first job after grad school, a Cartier Santos Ronde SS quartz from ca 1996 that decided to sell on a whim, and an 18k Rose Radiomir classic Panerai, that I had bought myself when turned 55. My buddy is doing a new kitchen so wanted to sell them and so I’m buying the back for what he paid.

2- Order a vintage ca 1990 large Cartier Panther 18k w bracelet. My Dad had one and was stolen many years ago on a trip, so made sense to get this one from great dealer with all links and box/papers n great condition , hardly worn. Arrives next week after my birthday travels this week .

Sharing a picture of some my Rolex collection, about 4-5 other Rolex at my family’s home.

Fortunate to have achieved another successful year, and with other nice pieces non-Rolex in collection, I think these “purchased-back” and new Panther is a good thing. What do you think? ( I don’t buy grey so….)

Looking forward to great seafood diner celebration near the water with family tomorrow night!

Cheers!
