Multiple 2-watch collections
Like a lot of you who've been playing with watches for a long time (since the mid/late 80's for me), my interest has waxed and waned over time. It grew and contracting in numbers, adding "grail" pieces that ultimately didn't stick as grail pieces, and gotten more esoteric (expensive!) at some points, more pedestrian at others. I made a 15 watch Pelican case, and tried to make that a self-imposed limit, which has had mixed results, but overall has sort of worked, though evolved into multiple watch rolls that are easier to put in my safe. I find that I usually keep 2-3 wound and handy at any given time though, and the thought of getting down to that elusive 2 or 3 watch collection I could be totally satisfied with has both interested me and made me a bit sick! Today I did my usual after-work ritual of taking off my real watch, and putting on my Apple Watch Ultra (yeah, I know), and looking at my nightstand and thinking about this interesting, basically random combination, and what if these were my only watches? Then it had me thinking about my collection as a bunch of 2 watch collections, and how long I could go with a set before having the urge to change to another pair! I'm hoping this is the equivalent of "going shopping in your closet" and keeping me from buying another watch roll I have to fill.
