Authorized Dealer Visit
I went to an AD today to view some watches. They had a very nice selection of just about every model currently available. No platty though. The owner of the store helped me personally. That was such an honor since this store has been in its current location since 1940 and was his fathers originally. He also informed me of something I wasn't aware of. Rolex dealerships are rated in 3 different levels or catagories. His store being rated highest. During my visit, he showed me his Single Red Sub from 1968. Very nice. He also said that he has a GMT II that has a very rare dial that he has set aside in the safe. Apparently the numbers after the GMT varied somewhat or it was a misprint. One that had a longer line on bottom, one with equally long lines on top and bottom, and one with no lines (the last being the rarest). He has a GMT with no lines on top or bottom. I told him he might get phone calls from some of you. I was also able to hold a new Deep Sea which is why I went there to begin with. He offered me 10% off that watch which I thought was a kind gesture. When it was time for me to go, he gave me a very nice magazine to take with me (and to drool over). The visit was pleasant from the time I entered to the time I left. Here is a picture of the magazine cover. Isn't she a doll.
