Interesting observation

I thought I would try a silicon strap on my SLGA015 diver. So I found one I really liked and ordered it. So I was installing it this morning and was surprised that the spring bar was huge. Reminds of the " fat bars" on the turtles. The spring bars also have much more spring tension than a normal spring bar. To depress the pin is a marked difference between a normal bar.

These bars are so big that they would not fit the silicon band without stretching the hole to the point I was worried it would split them. Their about 3mm in diameter.

Being my SBGC251G also has a 23mm lug width (45mm chronograph) I thought I would try the band on it. Interestingly the bigger watch has normal spring bars.

After giving it some thought, I was impressed that Grand-Seiko beefed up the diver to this extent. It's my daily wear watch that sees alot of action each and every work day. A little additional comfort knowing the build quality of Grand-Seiko.
