2001 Patek Philippe 5022R Calatrava 18K Rose Gold Porcelain Dial Unpolished With Pape

For sale is an unpolished near mint condition 33mm 18 karat rose gold Patek Philippe Calatrava. The 5022R was originally purchased in November of 2001, and is accompanied by its original Certificate of Origin, and a brown calfskin leather literature holder.

The Patek features a polished rose gold case with officer style lugs, which is accented by a smooth polished gold stepped bezel. The Calatrava is mounted on its original black alligator strap, which is secured by its original polished rose gold tang buckle. The Patek features a white porcelain dial with painted black Breguet style Arabic numeral hour markers, black Breguet style lacquered hands, and a seconds sub dial register at 6 o’clock. The movement used in the 5022R is the manual winding Patek Philippe Geneva Seal Caliber 215 PS, which features approximately 44 hours of power reserve, and is running flawlessly.

The Patek’s unpolished case has been preserved extremely well and contains minimal signs of previous wear, while the caseback contains strong brush lines and extra crisp hallmarks. The OEM strap contains some minor creasing from light previous wear, and has the majority of its uselife left.Overall the Patek is in near mint condition, and is an exceptional example of an unpolished 5022R Calatrava, with the only signs of previous wear being some faint surface level hairline scratches on the Calatrava’s high polish accents.

About the Reference 5022:
The reference 5022 truly embodies what neo-vintage Patek Philippe is all about, as it eoncompasses vintage aestiches, combined with modern mechanical reliability, and was arguably one of the last “pure” Calatrava references to be produced. The 5022’s porcelain dial incorporates Breguet style numerals and hands, to serve as a nod to two of the most desirable features on vintage Calatrava models. The reference 5022 was also produced during a relatively short production span, which lasted between 1997 and 2003.
