I have the same wrist size as you (the shape might be different) and 40-41mm is optimal (in my case) for a Rolex Professional model. Weight, case height/shape and lug design all factor in. I have a 44mm Omega that wears like a 40mm on me. Conversely, I've had a 43mm that looked like a dinner plate and was about as comfortable.
