Back into modern watches! 126610LN incoming
Stepped away from watches for the last few years. It was too crazy and no longer fun, since everything was impossible to get without jumping through hoops or paying a premium. Plus I live in a major city where demand is crazy, I was told they get 40+ requests every day for a steel Sub.
I've been wearing my vintage 1960 GMT 1675 a lot in the meantime, but was thinking about adding back a modern Sub someday. With the GMT being quite old and hard to replace, I find that I'm babying it a lot. So I've been toying with the idea of getting a modern Sub to complement it. I didn't seriously pursue the Sub, but was on the list at my local AD for about a year and would drop by every few months to check in. Stopped by on Saturday to find the sales person I worked with is no longer working there. To my surprise, I got a call this morning from the new sales person I had just met, telling me they had a Sub for me! Apparently she asked her manager and I guess they felt bad that I had been waiting for so long, so they made it happen. Completely unexpected, honestly I had assumed they just threw my info in the trash since I had zero purchase history. Anyway, pic below. Loving the Sub so far, it is definitely everything I expected. Not as comfy as my vintage GMT, but feels much more robust, a real tank. And I have to admit, it's kind of nice having a quick set date again. |
