Was I saved by eBay's Authenticity Program?

I've been lurking to purchase a 16610 for awhile now. I came across this elegant M-16610 with papers, booklets, almost everything..

Seller was asking $10100, came out with a deal to $8850.
Seller shipped following business day.

Stoll & Co, eBay's partner, received the watch today and deemed it not 'authentic'. Reason being is because sapphire and bezel are 'after-market.' They're sending it back to seller and I am getting refunded.

Now that I realized, this bezel has the wide/fat/flat 4 on a M-serial watch. Was that even a thing? Also, is it me or is the outer box too green?

Please advise!

If it was really authentic or not, to me, this was a lesson learned to buy from trusted sources..
