Stupid Nicknames

I have just read a thread in which a forum member has just struck lucky and managed to buy a rather nice timepiece, but rather than introduce the watch using the name and or model number it is announced via a nickname.

Why oh why is it necessary for watches to be given insanely stupid nicknames.

Rolex give their watches names and model numbers but it would seem that this is not good enough and instead daft bizarre nicknames have to be introduced.

I'll probably get pilloried for posting this but it just drives me mad hearing these daft names.
