FS: 1941 Patek Philippe 18K YG Chronograph 591 with Extract from the Archives
Serial #: 622XXX Description: Case: The excellent and sharp 34mm 18k yellow gold case appears to be unpolished showing a deep and well defined hallmark on the outside of the upper left lug. Dial: The light silver dial is excellent showing only extremely light wear for its age overall. There is one very small mark just to the right of the 1 o'clock marker and some very subtle aging around the markers. The hands are also in excellent condition showing only very light wear from use. Bracelet: The light brown Sotheby's leather strap is excellent showing only extremely light wear from use. Accessories: Extract from the Archives. Notes: 1941 was no small year for the world. France had already fallen to Nazi Germany, The cities of Britain were under constant bombardment from the air, and Vice Admiral Chuichi Nagumo snuck his attack fleet a mere 230 miles off of the Hawaiian islands before launching the air attack that would bring the United States into WWII. Yet somehow in the middle of all of this, a watchmaker in Geneva sat at his bench plugging away at a watch. A watch that would outlive its maker, the war it was born of, and the many other wars that would follow. Nations have risen and fallen since its creation. This is because unlike the objects of today, it was not made to grow obsolete, to rot, rip, or break and be replaced by the next thing. Which was made to be just a little worse than the thing it is meant to replace. This watch was made to be used for as long as there is anybody left to use it. Offered at: $127,550 Feel free to text me at (415) 260-9129 or email me at [email protected] with any questions that you may have. References upon request. Follow me on instagram: @watchand Full refund minus shipping costs if not happy after 3 day inspection period. Thanks, Jacek |
