His and Her Daytona RBRs and a third wheel...pic heavy

Apologies in advance for the picture overload....

Although I have never been a huge fan of diamond bezels, I really liked the look of the new reference 2024 Daytona MOP OF with the diamond bezel 126589 RBR and then when my wife also picked it out as something she would also like to wear I decided to ask my AD on its availability....he eventually came back to me last month and informed me that Rolex had notified him that they would receive only one this year along with the matching 126579RBR full WG bracelet with the MOP colors in reverse..

So I asked him to reserve the oysterflex which he duly did...

Fast forward to last week and he told me to get my wallet ready as the watch would be available for pick up this week, he also informed me that the 126579 RBR would be available to me if I decided on the pair and he would hold it until I had a chance to view the watch....

Well let's just say the rest is history and I ended up picking up both watches with the intention to give the OF to the wife and the full gold bracelet for myself....As the AD is a 40 minute flight from me, he promised that when I come next with the wife he will provide the right size oysterflex bands for my wife....until then I guess I will just have to wear it

If I'm being honest, still getting used to a full diamond bezel but I do love the way the MOP dials reflect in the light, truly beautiful....

Was provided with some nice swag....a couple of polo shirts, a Rolex pen and a first for me some Rolex shades

Also, got to try on some off catalog pieces that were available....one yachtmaster and a completely blinged out daydate....but not for me and funds are now completely depleted

AD has multiple stores and this was the first time I have visited this particular AD store and it had quite an impressive selection for purchase from Explorers, datejusts, subs and some exotic daydate dials including platinum dials....

I do realize such MOP and diamond dial watches are very much an acquired taste and not to many people suiting but as a Daytona fan who likes to collect rare things I do feel both of these will be rather unique and rare which will make them prized pieces in the collection....

As for the third wheel....that was a Yachtmaster 40 blue dial that I picked up for a friend who will be presenting it for his father's birthday....blue dial really pops on this one...

Enjoy the watch candy
