Help: Last Year of Rolex 3035

As stated in numerous places online the Rolex Cal. 3035 was discontinued in 1988. Does anyone know if the 3035 made it into watch cases with serials after 1988?

Reason I ask is because I have a Date 15200 E Serial Mint complete watch minus movement (circa 1990). I am wondering if a Cal. 3035 could be considered correct as a friend has a spare one in great shape. I don't plan to sell the watch. Just want something nice to wear.
