Assitance please in identifying this Rolex

Good Afternoon,

I am new to this forum, and appreciate any assistance that your expertise might lend. I found this Rolex in a small shop near my home. I enjoy buying unique pieces for my wife, and fell in love with this one. I am having a very difficult time determining the model and time period.

This is what I know. The watch is a 17 Jewel movement, with an 18Kt gold casing (clasp is 14Kt) There is 1.51ct total weight in diamonds. I was unable to take a picture of the interior of the case due to the camera I was using, but it did have a crown hallmark and a number that I believe started with an "R". Based on my research that would put it around 1987, but it just doesn't look like that would be a reasonable year? Top of the face reads Rolex and under the hands reads 'precision'
