Trip to Maui

Just got back from a week long trip to Maui. Took the Explorer II and put it through its paces: snorkeling, scuba diving, pool, and beach time--wore it 24/7. Being able to use two time zones was very helpful. This trip confirmed my personal opinion that the Explorer II is the best Rolex tool/beater watch.

Didn't see too many Rolex's out there. A hand full of Subs., GMTs, and only one other Explorer II. I stopped by Baron and Leeds, the AD on Maui, and checked out their stock. They had just about everything except for a SS Daytona (lucky for me I own one). Service was friendly.

At the resort I stayed at, there was a Rolls Royce, a Ferrari, and a Bugatti parked in front. The valet told me a guest owned all three and 40 other high end luxury cars. The Bugatti was one of thirty made. A couple of days later, I noticed the Bugatti was gone. The valet told me the owner had taken it for a spin around the block. A few minutes later, he drives up, gets out, and goes into the resort. I noticed he was wearing a Pepsi GMT--diamond encrusted face and jeweled bezel. Nice, but I would rather have an Explorer II.
