I stopped by a Washington, DC-area AD and he volunteered to me that if I wanted a SS Daytona in black or white face, he could get me one.

He said his chain had a "glut" of them internally and folks that had bought a watch or two from his store could get one without a problem.

Has anyone heard similar chatter from their AD? This struck me as something odd to volunteer, given I was looking at a SS Sub for my collection. Given what I've read here, I'm waiting for the ceramic bezel.
