Considering a Deepsea? One week review
I know this horse has been beaten to death but I wanted to post my review for those considering a Deepsea 116660 because when I was debating the decision I relyed heavily on these types of reviews for guidance. I bought the watch from a reputable online dealer (usaveontime from ebay) about 4 weeks ago. I kept it in the safe for 3 weeks looking at it daily, reading the material......really just enjoying the looks and quality of the watch but not wearing it! Still wearing my titanium Swiss Army. Light watch 40mm so deepsea will be a BIG CHANGE
Day 1) Removed 2 links to get it down to fit my 7.25" wrist. Watch felt too heavy, So I tightened the band just above the wrist bone via adjustment system. I Had to readjust a number of times. Still clumbsy with the new extension system on the clasp. I had thought I had made a mistake with my purchase due to the beast factor of the watch Day 2) Looked in the mirror before heading out Into the field. It's beautiful! You cannot deny that. Weight not as much an issue. Only a few adjustments needed but I still was unsure. Day (3-5) No adjustments needed. Watch stayed on my wrist the whole day. No problems....and no comments from anyone. Which I like. Played a few games of bocce ball with it on. No problems with the weight. What I didn't like was taking it off for bed. The watch is becoming comfortable. Day 6 The watch feels like it is perfectly sized and weighted for my wrist. The matted steel ceramic dial and crystal work perfectly. I can wear it loose or tight no problems. It's comfortable.....very comfortable. Day 7 I have lunch with my buddy who owns a breitling dive watch :). He sees mine but doesn't say anything. Finally he can't take it any more and says simply , 'let me see the watch'...."12800 feet are you kidding!? Mine only goes five k.". Then he put them side by side and said in a sad sad low voice "my watch looks like a chic watch......Fvck!" I finally had peace of mind with my purchase and selection of the DeepSea BEAST. Don't think about it just get it and give your wrist time to adjust. What did everyone else go through in their 1st week? Signed, Happy as a deepsea clam. Brian |
