A trip to 2 Rolex AD's later.....
Hi all,
My wait for my First Rolex is now over :D I was initially after a TT Blue 16613 but as it's been long discontinued it's near impossible to find one anywhere in AD's and the ones that had them refused any discount... Then I was browsing the forum's and I saw pics of the 16610LV and thought "That looks pretty nice with the Green Bezel and Maxi Dial" and also felt I'm a bit too young to be wearing a TT and that I'll be wearing it daily, the Gold will mark easier than non polished Steel. I knew 2 AD's relatively near me had a LV in stock, so off I went to one of them, had a look at it etc etc and asked about Discount, the young chap said he'll talk to his boss and I was told that as the LV is discontinued he wouldn't budge on the price, so I pollitely said thanks for your time and I'll think about it. Then I decided to drive down to my other AD (which is further away) to look at there LV, I visited them before enquiring about 116613's but told them I fancied a SS Sub for the above reasons. Again I was told they wouldn't budge on the price, they moved a little, thats when I said last week your boss said he'd give me 5% on it, so she had a chat with him and agreed a little bit more than 5% discount and I managed to get them to give me a Black Bezel insert aswell . So a few min's later, my bank balance is a fair bit lighter but I'm now a proud owner of a Rolex Submariner 16610LV with a V serial Excuse the picture but it was a very quick one and my room is a bit dim If I was to stumble upon a BNIB 16613 for a sensible price I still wouldn't say no though ;) 2 questions though, 1)Should the Bezel move by itself or does it only move if I turn it anti clockwise? If someone can actually tell me how the Bezel works I'd appreciate it! 2) My crown doesn't line up upright when it's fully tightened, is that a issue with the watch or nothing to worry about and its a case of a QC issue? Sorry for the dumb questions :) Needlesss to say though, I'm really pleased with the watch and the Green Bezel has really grown on me. |
