Grey Market Question

Maybe some of you who are dealers and/or jewelers can answer this.
Why would an AD selll a high-demand watch like a Daytona to a grey market dealer to re-sell? The AD could easily sell that watch quickly at MSRP, without haggle. Why sell, possibly below MSRP, to another jeweler?
I never understood that.
Any thoughts, or true facts?
