Annoying click spring on my GMT Master
I have been doing a fair amount of insert swapping on my lovely 16700 GMT Master. I had the Pepsi on there for a few months and then the black and now the Coke. The bi-directional click spring is tricky. I have this issue where the spring sticks out almost too far and I think it is not properly engaging with the bezel surround. I keep taking the bezel off to look at it and push it closer to the dial, but it is a stubborn mofo!
I can lock down the bezel just fine and it rotates great in either direction. However, there is a point where the bezel actually seems like it is nudged up just a bit and I can push it down at 12:00 and 6:00, sort of moving back and forth less than a millimeter on either side. This is the spring sitting proud and causing a bit of resistance where it should not be doing this. I'm not at risk of losing anything, but it is a minor annoyance. I took it apart and worked with the spring several times last night, but it is so small and rigid that I can't really bend it that fraction of a mm that I need. Has anyone else encountered this? Any suggestions? Thanks. |
