Fake-o-rama at the ballgame

I went to see a baseball game (Dodgers vs. Padres) with tickets that the lady and I won from work. The guy sitting in front of me had the first knockoff Rolex I had ever seen. From what I saw, I was a blue dialed YM with quartz movement on a crappy oyster bracelet. The guy sitting next to me and i had been chatting it up a bit about scuba diving in Mexico, so I mentioned that the watch was a knockoff. He asked me how I could tell, and I pointed out a few ways.

He replied that while in Mexico he had bought a knockoff Rolex for $40 also and it worked fine...lol

I hate the knockoffs. I didn't mention it to the guy who had one because he was with his son and I didn't want to embarrass him, but I just don't understand the type of person who wears a fake brand name item. I personally would just buy a watch I liked that wasn't a Rolex and be happy with that.
