Cyclops and date box alignment - common issue?

Hello All - There has been a handful of posts within the past few months surrounding what seems to be a fairly common issue regarding the cyclops not being perfectly aligned with the date box on several models - Submariner, GMT, etc. I'm curious - how common is this? Many of the responses seem to indicate that it's fairly common for the cyclops to be "off" just a bit. Several posts have discussed sending the watch back to Rolex/AD in order to have the crystal/cylops removed and better aligned, while several have warned against doing this due to the potential to create other issues (dust on dial, gasget issues, etc. etc).

What are your thoughts - Is this a fairly common issue? Would you just accept this as a common issue and/or have the watch sent back to Rolex to correct?

I appreciate your feedback - hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving.
