2940 vs. 3131

Can you please share your thoughts on the relative collectability of the Bubbleback 2940 vs. 3131 assuming comparable condition? What about the older Oysters from the early 30's with the cushion cases? Should any certified Rolex technician be able to service these watches and, if so, is the cost in line with the servicing of modern Rolexes? Thanks for any advice.
