Petition to bring back the Rolex Oysterquartz
Finally, I get to experience the positive feelings of wearing a Rolex without the worry of it needing to be wound again in case I didn't wear it for a day or 2. Like on Sunday I was unable to wear it cuz I didn't go anywhere, I remember the anxiety on Monday morning of whether it was still working or needed winding or if the power reserve was low and I should wind it anyways, so many potential issues, but then I realised it was an Oysterquartz and that tension and worry was an issue of the past. Could invest in a winder or 2 but just too lazy at the moment I guess.
Come on guys, we need the Oysterquartz back. Imagine... Oysterquartz Daytona, Oysterquartz Submariner, Oysterquartz Milgauss... The latest Rolex designs and bracelets with the uber accurate quartz mechanism. Ahh even the single tick of the second hand sounds so cool and relaxed, the automatic would tick 6 or 8 times in a second and I was almost afraid it was overworking itself, like the second hand was trying to sprint in a marathon. The quartz second hand sounds like a smart item that realises time is perpetual and so it paces itself. Plus there's technology now released by other watch companies where the quartz second hand moves fluidly as well, come on Rolex, adapt and evolve with the times... u guys can take quartz watches to the next level. I prefer wearing a 1970s Oysterquartz to a 2006 DD, it's my new daily beater, oh if there was a 2011 Oysterquartz I would wet myself. |
