A Reference Library of Master Catalogues
I would like to create a library of master catalogues that could be placed in the reference section for all to use.
Members could use this information for many historical purposes. The master catalogue could provide a history of the changes to specfic watches so that you could see how a watch developed over time. For vintage watch collectors, the library could be used as a starting point for determining price. They are a great source for determining which models were available during which years. The idea is this, with over 50,000 members now, I would hope that some would have catalogues stuck in file drawers, hidden under piles of paper, or collecting dust on a book shelf. If anyone has contacts with Rolex maybe they would be willing to help as well. I have already found two catalogues on minus4plus6.com, found the incomplete price information in the library section, and a prices list from 1974-75. I would willing to compile the data and make an acrobat file. If people have a scanner, they could just send me the complete file and I would take care of it. We could go back as far as possible. If you have a catalogue, please send a to me or just include it on this thread. How 'bout it? Thank you. |
