I always thought I needed he date-I do check it numerous times a day when filling out records. But when I had my watch engraved it was away at RSC for almost two months and I survived very nicely with a nondate watch. The next watch I will consider doesn't have a date and that is fine with me.
Btw autocorrect changes "nondate" to "bondage"?!
