A little bit confused with all the models...

Hi,

I have been taking an interest in Panerai lately but have been confused with all the different models and varieties being offered. I do know the basics such as the manual and automatics, the sausage dial vs. the sandwich dial, base models, etc. but am not sure if all the Luminors have the basic case shape and if they all sit on the wrist the same way (for the 44mm ones).

Is there a general way for me to know (say, by the model number---000's, 100's, 200's, etc or the series) what the particular watch is in terms of specs?

Any thoughts would be much appreciated....

Thanks!
