Date display a bit "off"

On my Datejust, the date display shows a teeny tiny bit of yesterday's date. So today is the 5th, but I can see a little wee bit of the top part of the "4" in the display, but if I tap it on the crystal the 5th will nicely center itself. Is this to be expected on a 25+ year-old watch or cause for concern? It seems to self-correct with wrist movements throughout the day, so it is really only noticeable before I pick it up to wear it in the morning. Watch works wonderfully otherwise and if I had to quess has never been serviced.
