16760 bezel issues..
Hi all, just breaking in my new (to me) fat lady and I've been playing with the bezel but am a little concerned about how to function it properly/if it is malfunctioning.
So here's what I have encountered: The bezel will rotate counter clockwise nicely with a 'gentle' click, but then after 3 full turns or so it will stop clicking and behaves more like a friction bezel (which it might be considering age - new to gmts, forgive my ignorance). If I rotate it clockwise, it behaves differently, becomes harder to turn but still has a gentle click. Then the same thing happens after a few turns and the bezel won't click, just turns with no click. In both cases, once it becomes dislodged so to speak, the bezel needs a few turns with or without pressure applied, to get it back into working order. SO. After determining it may be a push activated bezel, I began turning it while depressed which seemed to work nicely in both directions having a smoother 'click'. Problem solved right? Unfortunately no. The same problem arises akin to the first non depressed turns. It becomes somewhat dislodged, forcing me to fiddle with it until it settles in again. Can anyone shed some light? Apologies and thanks in advance for the fairly long and perhaps confusing question. |
