He was an owner, and a sloooooooooooooooow seller. :) But it's not uncommon to get 10-15% off on a DeepSea. Subs are harder, though still doable. For example, an AD I spoke to would go 8500 on a DS (when they were $9800), but the Sub was full price. You might have done slightly better but now more than ever, people are paying close to list on SS sport models. And now that list is $10,600, your almost 11k outlay isn't quite as bad as it was before the hike. Enjoy the watch, it's a great one.
