Like you, I have been confused as to why there has never been a "date" function on a Daytona. There is a pretty good alternative...a Tudor Chronograph. Get the pre-Tiger Woods model and it'll have a normal Oyster bracelet, chronograph functions AND the date. Since both the Tudor and the Daytona (until recently) used movements supplied by an outside supplier, I never understood why the "cheaper brand" would have the date and the "more expensive brand" NOT have the date. Also, the Tudor was an automatic long before the Daytona. God willing, my next Rolex will be a TT Blue Sub. Rawhyde |
